TokenTrack is built by an independent developer in Québec, Canada. The short version: your usage data stays on your computer, and the website collects only what it needs to sell and deliver a license.
The app
TokenTrack reads the usage logs that Claude Code, OpenClaw and similar tools already write to your disk, and computes costs locally. Your prompts, code, project names and usage numbers are never sent to us. The app makes only these network requests:
- Update checks — fetches our update feed (appcast / update manifest) to see if a new version exists.
- Optional price sync — off by default; when on, downloads the public LiteLLM model-price table from GitHub.
- License renewal (Monthly and Yearly only) — sends your license key to our server to fetch the renewed key. The key contains the email you paid with and your plan.
- OpenAI usage — only if you add an OpenAI API key; the app then fetches your usage from OpenAI directly. The key is stored on your computer (in the macOS Keychain on Mac) and never sent to us.
The app has no analytics, crash reporting or tracking.
The website
- Analytics — Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
- Download counts — we count downloads per file and per day. No IP or identity is stored with the count.
- Waitlist — if you leave your email, we store it to tell you about TokenTrack. Ask us and we delete it.
- Abuse protection — the sign-up and checkout forms keep a per-IP request counter for one hour to stop automated spam, then it expires.
Payments and licenses
Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. From Stripe we receive your email, plan and payment status, and we keep a record of the license issued to that email so we can renew subscriptions and help if you lose your key.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics.
- Stripe — payments, receipts and refunds.
- Upstash — the database holding waitlist emails, license records and counters.
These providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you — email us below. We don't sell personal information and don't use it for advertising. We keep payment records as long as tax law requires.
